Educative Activities

One of the functions of the National Archives is the promotion of the cultural and educative value of archival fonds.

As such, the establishment of a service concerned with the planning of similar activities within the National Archives proved more than necessary. It became functional with the issue of Decree n° 97-389, 21 february 1997 relating to the organization and administration of the National Archives.

The main task of this service consists in promoting scientific research and vocational training by means of all other adequate means. It undertakes the organisation of records exhibitions on request or on special occasions in relation with public holidays or official visits paid by foreign important figures.

In conformity with its above-mentioned objective, the National Archives undertakes the organisation of guided tours for the benefit of university and secondary school students, professionals, foreigners…

Besides, the different contributions to radio / TV programmes and journalistic presentations on records represent a good opportunity to promote the cultural and educative value of archival fonds.

The National Archives satisfactorily answers all information requests, formulated by Tunisians or foreigners, relating to the preserved records available.

To benefit from its cultural and educative activities, requests should be addressed to the Director General with a participants roll and the visit’s programme as enclosures.
