This concerns records and comprises about 100.000 recordings.

The unit of description used for these records often lies at the file and sub-file level and is rarely situated at the document level (case for the treaties conclude between Tunisian and foreign countries).

The description elements used for these records rely basically on ISAD (G) standard and are :
Instructions concerned with records identification ;
Instructions concerned with records content at the description unit level ;
Inclusive data relating to records ;
A three-stage indexation :
 - A subject descriptor : we often make reference to a generic descriptor and a specific one ;
 - Names of the physical and moral persons : names of reputed persons and bodies mentioned in the records making object of the description ;
 - Names of the places mentioned in the records targeted by the description.

“Thakra” database comprises data often subject to Arabic and French processing according to the prevailing language in the targeted records.
