The preserved fonds presently held by the National Archives of Tunisia deal with the history of Tunisia.
The concerned period extends from the XVIIth century to the present day.

They comprise four major groups :

- The Ottoman Period
- The Colonial Period
- Independent Tunisia
- Documentary fonds
